Samsung Names Galaxy Phones and Tablets in Line for Android 17-Based One UI 9

A list published by Samsung Japan shows which Galaxy devices will receive the Android 17-based One UI 9 update, with rollout expected through October and November in that market.

Samsung has confirmed which Galaxy phones and tablets are set to receive its Android 17-based One UI 9 software, offering an indication of what owners can expect around the world in the months ahead.

One UI 9 debuted in September on the Galaxy S26 series and has since reached a number of devices from the previous generation. Samsung has now published an official list of additional smartphones and tablets that will get the update.

The list came from Samsung Japan, so the timing it gives applies strictly to that region. The set of eligible devices, however, is expected to carry over globally, and it is a lengthy one.

Among the flagship phones named are the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra, the Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra, the Galaxy S24 and S24 Ultra, the Galaxy S24 FE, and the Galaxy S23 and S23 Ultra. Foldables on the list include the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5.

Several mid-range phones also appear: the Galaxy A57, A55, A54, A36 and A25. On the tablet side, Samsung listed the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra, the Tab S10, S10+ and S10 Ultra, the Tab S10 FE and S10 FE+, the Tab S10 Lite, the Tab S9, S9+ and S9 Ultra, and the Tab S9 FE and S9 FE+. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024), Tab A11, Tab A11+/5G and Tab Active 5 Pro round out the roster.

The list should not be treated as complete. It leaves out some obvious candidates, such as the "Plus" versions of recent Galaxy S flagships, as well as many Galaxy A models and devices sold in other regions.

Samsung said the updates will arrive, at least in Japan, across October and November 2026. The company is expected to keep rolling the software out globally beyond that period, with many entry-level devices likely to be updated through December and January.

9to5Google said it will keep tracking the worldwide rollout and maintains a regularly updated list of devices that have already received the update.
